Online video appointments
To give you the best possible care, your GP may decide to have a video appointment with you. A video call is similar to a face-to-face appointment. You will get the same care. You will need a computer, tablet or smartphone with an internet connection.
We’ll contact you to let you know the doctor would like to do a video appointment and we’ll send you the instructions to help you connect to the video call.
Preparing for your video appointment
- Make sure you’re ready to click the video link at least five minutes before the appointment.
- Find a private, well-lit area of your home where you’re comfortable, won’t be disturbed and the doctor can see you clearly.
- Make sure you’re in an area with a good internet connection.
- Check that your camera and microphone work – and that they are switched on.
- Prepare questions if you need to and be ready to take notes.
